Gala Wine and Wine Baskets Needed
ROTARY GALA IN THE PARK sales committee chair, Elmer Schindel, has put out the word that he and his team need unopened and slightly valuable bottles of wine and an array of baskets to create wine baskets to be included in the Silent Auction. Over 30 members from the five Area 5 Clubs (SLP, SLP Sunrise, Hopkins, Golden Valley and Minnetonka) exhibited their services, projects and wares. Our own club led the way with 16, followed by Hopkins with eight. Many members from each club were in attendance; a great buffet lunch was served; and DGE Sandra Schley from Edina Rotary was in attendance and needless to say, “quite impressed with the event.” Congratulations to project director Allan Ackerman for his leadership, organizational and promotional skills, and most of all, his humor and candor at the microphone during prize give-aways. [More] GSE Visitors From India Entertain and Inform “Namaskara!” This is a traditional Indian greeting, which was used often Monday when the GSE (Group Study Exchange) team from RID-3190 in Bengaluru (formerly known as Bangalore), India. It is known as the Silicon Valley and Garden City of India. We learned that there are 84 clubs and nearly 3,500 Rotarians in this flourishing district.
